MURDER MYSTERY UK
On 9 May 1989 a local community service group needed funds to take under privileged kids on an outward bound type holiday. A Murder Mystery Evening was organised to raise funds! On the evening, three suspicious looking people going by the names of Andrew Rawlinson (founder), together with Caroline Holdsworth and Neil Woodhead were to be found stalking about the murder scene.
Since the early days of first securing the Hobbit Hotel in 1992, the list of Murder Mystery UK's own 'actors' has risen to about 50 in total, who are chosen depending on the script characters that they will be asked to play. They use various method acting talents allowing them to think on their feet and ensure relevant clues and evidence are revealed as the evening progresses.
After 11 years Caroline has taken her experience as a talented script writer and ventured into the world of small personalised dinner parties. More details about this appear on the 'your own dinner party'
Meanwhile Neil is concentrating on writing his Murder Mystery Memoirs.
And so enter the new owners of Murder Mystery UK, Mike and Carol Foggin. We started doing (as paying guests) Murder Mystery Weekends about 16 years ago and have been on over 35 weekends, and seen 11 different Murder Mystery companies in the UK and the U.S.A.
We first were paying guests for a MMUK evening around 11 years ago and more recently have acted for Neil & Caroline many, many times and even had a Murder Mystery wedding reception when we were married 11 years ago! So we're really keen to carry on the success and formula that Andrew, Caroline & Neil worked so hard to achieve, whilst adding a little of our own experience in Murder Mystery!
