Please note that we only have pre-arranged events in 2006 with The Hobbit Country Inn and the Alder House Hotel... at present.
All hotels serve excellent cuisine and wines, and are located in beautifully surrounding countryside, and are spread around the north of England from Cheshire and Lancashire to Lincolnshire and Co Durham.
The Alder House Hotel is a privately owned Georgian House Hotel, extended and refurbished to a high standard and standing in its own grounds. Priding itself on the quality of accommodation and services offered - the food is of both traditional and French cuisine - and the services friendly and obliging, as you would expect to find in this particular part of England.
Meet in the cozy bar, with it's large open log fire, providing the most perfect of atmospheres for this most diverse form of entertainment. Then through to the York Suite where dinner will be served in a fully air conditioned room with its own private bar, where your Murder Mystery Evening will predominantly be held.

The Hobbit Country Inn is Murder Mystery UK's main client and a venue. We have been happily murdering people there since the beginning of 1992 - it really does feel like our second home sometimes!
You will find The Hobbit Country Inn nestling on a steep hillside in the little hamlet of Norland on the outskirts of Halifax, West Yorkshire. The original building was constructed over one hundred years ago - having been added to with sympathetic extensions that have enhanced the original buildings. The Hobbit has fourteen bedrooms, Dining Area and Banqueting Suite. There are 2 spacious car parks for patrons.
The Murder Mystery takes place in the Banqueting Suite, which can seat around eighty guests. The dinner is a very important part of the whole evening at The Hobbit and guests receive a menu when they book in order to choose from the fine selection of courses available.
The Hobbit arrange many theme nights and so it is usually possible to book a weekend break with an event on the Friday evening and then the Murder Mystery on the Saturday evening. In addition to this, they are licensed until 2am..

The Norton Grange Hotel is situated in nine acres of landscaped gardens, with the Victorian architecture recently enhanced by tasteful redecoration. The hotel has been transformed into a place where guests can enjoy a refreshing blend of traditional surroundings and modern creature comforts.

The Murder Mystery Evening takes place in The Cheshire Suite, stay for the weekend and enjoy one of the hotel's sixty eight bedrooms, along with the beautiful Cheshire countryside and local attractions - including Chester, Manchester, Liverpool.

Rogerthorpe Manor Country House Hotel
Conveniently situated just minutes from the A1/M62 road, you sweep into the drive that leads you to Rogerthorpe Manor Country House Hotel, before you stands a Jacobean Grade II listed building set in glorious countryside. Situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds in the picturesque village of Walkington, The Ferguson Fawsitt Arms is famous for its carvery. This historic public house with its open fires and old fashioned snug-type lounges with oak beams also boasts an elegant restaurant and can cater for functions up to 100 people.
Originally called the Bay Horse, it was renamed to honour the marriage of two local dignitaries - Daniel Ferguson and Eliza Fawsitt - in 1866. In the 1950's the pub was extended into the blacksmith's shop next door, which now forms the main bar.
The Ferguson Fawsitt arms is truly a jewel in the Walkington crown - whose atmospheric history forms the perfect backdrop for an evening of murder and mystery.
